Before you get dressed.

What counts as business casual for women?
Polished separates, intentional shoes and at least one structured element are a reliable starting point. Your office, industry and role determine how formal to go.
What should I buy first?
Start with a blazer, two trousers, two elevated tops and one dependable work shoe. Add a skirt or dress once those pieces already mix well.
Can jeans be business casual?
Sometimes. Dark, clean denim is the safest version when your office allows jeans. Add structure elsewhere in the outfit.
How many work clothes do I actually need?
Fewer than most people think. A tight group of pieces that share colors, proportions and shoes will create more outfits than a larger closet of unrelated items.
